Improvement and Fun!

The game of rugby is so great because there’s always something new to learn, or a new technique to master, or something to improve upon. As expected, we worked hard today to clean up our mistakes from Thursday and to add a few new tidbits to our game. We finished around 4:00PM, showered at the Druid Rugby Clubhouse where we were practicing and then proceeded directly to the home of one of our team liaisons (Sue) for a fantastic BBQ dinner. It was really quite spectacular – our family and friends were invited, there was a ton of food and drinks, and there was plenty of fun to be had by all. Sue’s nieces and nephews were playing on a slip-n-slide and after only a few minutes of hesitation a bunch of us joined in the action! Most of us took time to change into our bathing suits, while a few went in their jeans and T-shirts! Sue and her partner, Wes, who together raise sled dogs, led us on a walk around their impressive property while the dogs ran jumping and playing alongside us. It was such a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere – it felt like we were one huge family.
